💻 Is This The Next Big Digital Nomad and Remote Work Continent?

Bali, Chang Mai, and Mexico are a few nomad hot spots that seem to enjoy the limelight.

Meanwhile, there is a burgeoning scene in South America.

Sure, Medellin, Columbia has been on the radar for a long time but what about Argentina and Uruguay?

Visa Guide released their digital nomad index and ranks both of these countries in the top 10 "best countries for digital nomads".

Then again, Ecuador only issued 116 nomad visas in 16 months.

Hmmmm....

But wait a second!

Don't look now but Peru just unveiled an ambitious roposal for a Digital Nomad Visa Program.

The article goes on to say:

"Peru joins the ranks of South American nations embracing the trend of remote work visas.

In Argentina, as of the previous year, digital nomads can enjoy stays of 180 days, with the option for renewal, provided they can demonstrate a sufficient source of income from outside the country.

Brazil introduced a remote work visa in 2022, allowing extendable stays of one year, followed by Ecuador, which permits two-year stays.

This year, Colombia initiated a two-year digital nomad visa, while Uruguay introduced a renewable 180-day visa."

Something is most definitely brewing down South ( and no, I'm not talking about my indigestion).
